Jennifer pursued study in Massage Therapy after having a life altering experience with a low back injury in her late teens. She credits Massage Therapy for having aided in her recovery and she knew that she needed to learn this skill set to help others. After graduating from the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy in 2003, with specializations in Pregnancy & Geriatrics, Osteopathic Studies were her next logical step. She completed her 5 years of Osteopathic Studies at the Canadian College of Osteopathy, Toronto/Vancouver in 2012 and is currently working to complete her thesis to finish her designation of D.O.M.P. Her area of research is “Scar tissue treatment and its effect on core stability in women with Cesarean sections”.
Jennifer has a background in strength and mobility training as well as dance, yoga and pilates. She is an active member at CrossFit Waterloo and when appropriate, incorporates remedial exercises into her treatment plans. She holds the belief that “The body has what it needs to be healthy. Sometimes it just needs a gentle nudge in the right direction to help it move properly and restore function.”
Outside of her practice and CrossFitting, Jennifer is a mother to a beautiful, bouncy five-year-old boy, Michael. She greatly enjoys chasing him, camping and cooking.
